How to Connect a New Tenant to an Existing Lease in RentRedi

Have a new tenant you'd like to connect to an existing lease in RentRedi?

No worries — we’ve got you covered! 🙌

Follow these steps to get started: 👇

1. Add the Tenant to Their Unit

First, add the new tenant to their unit in your RentRedi dashboard.

  1. On your RentRedi dashboard, click the "Add +" next to the Renters tab

  2. Select a property and unit where you want to add the tenant

  3. Fill out the tenant's first and last name

  4. On "Send Invite", select between sending "Now" or "Skip/Later"

  5. Fill out the tenant's email address and phone number

  6. On "Send From", select the email address which the invite will be sent from

  7. Enter a name that you want to be shown for you in the invite

  8. Click "Add Tenant"

2. Choose How to Share the Lease

Once the tenant is added, you’ll see a prompt asking if you'd like to share the lease with them.

  • Share Lease
Click this to have your tenant sign the lease. Just upload the document, and they'll be notified in their RentRedi app to sign it.

  • Continue Without Lease
Click this to skip uploading the lease for now — you can always upload it later.

3. Enable Tenant Payments

Next, you’ll be asked if you’d like to “Enable Tenant to Pay?”

  • Link to Existing Future Charges
Select this to connect the new tenant to the current lease and any future charges for the unit.

✅ You're All Set!

Your new tenant has been added and is set up with their lease charges. 🎉
