You can schedule automatic rent increases in RentRedi to ensure rent adjustments are applied consistently without manual updates.
This is best used for long-term tenants with a pre-defined lease agreement that includes scheduled rent changes over time. π
Follow the steps below to set up a recurring rent increase for your leases and keep your rental terms up to date automatically.
From your RentRedi dashboard, click the plus (+) Create New button on the left-hand side.
Under Charges, select Rent.
Enter the charge details:
Amount β Enter the initial rent amount.
Lease Start & End Dates β Set the initial lease period.
π¨+ Schedule a New Lease β Click to create an additional lease schedule. Use as many schedules as needed. π¨
π¨Add Rental Increases β Check this box to create an automatic rent increase. π¨
Increase Method β Choose whether the increase will be based on a Percentage (%) or a Fixed Amount ($USD).
Increase Amount β Enter the rent increase amount based on the selected method.
Increase Frequency β Choose whether the increase happens only once or repeats on a custom schedule (every X months or years).
Charge Every β Choose how often the charge repeats (monthly, bi-monthly, custom schedule, etc.).
On the β Select the due date for the charge.
Send Rent Reminders (Optional) β Enabled by default. Tenants will automatically receive reminders before rent is due (and every day after). This setting can be updated later if needed.
Require Tenants to Pay Oldest Charges First (Optional) β When enabled, tenants must pay any past-due balances before paying current charges.
Click Next to continue.
Select the Property & Unit and choose the tenant(s) who should see the charge.
Only selected tenants will be able to view and pay the charge.
(Optional) Enable Credit Boost to report eligible on-time rent payments and help tenants build their credit history.
Click Next to review the charges.
Preview how the charges will be scheduled based on the amount, frequency, due date, and lease dates.
Click Next to move through each page.
You can make final edits to the amount or description, duplicate charges, or delete charges, if needed.
Click Create Charges when finished.
