Stripe Payment Method, Pay Rent, Switching to Stripe, Setup Autopay

Recently, RentRedi switched to a new payment processor, Stripe. As a result, you will need to update your payment method in RentRedi to avoid any disruption to payments and auto-pay.

ACTION REQUIRED: Your current payment method needs to be re-entered in RentRedi immediately.

Benefits of Using Stripe to Pay Rent:

Paying rent on time is important to you, and we want to ensure the transaction is as seamless as possible. This update will improve your payment processing times, including:

  • Same-day withdrawal from your account for ACH payments made before 2pm EST - helps you avoid insufficient funds fees!

  • 2-3 business days for your payment to fully clear and show on bank statements

Why do I need to update my payment method for Stripe?

Your payment method was saved with the previous payment processor, and while this new processor (Stripe) will have many great benefits, you will need to re-save your payment method with them.

What happens if I don’t update my payment method with Stripe?

Payments and auto-pay will NOT WORK until you re-enter your payment information in RentRedi. You can set up automatic payments under the new processor once you re-enter your payment method.

How to Set Up a Payment Method

  1. On your RentRedi app, tap Rent

  2. Tap the charge you would like to pay

  3. Select the payment method by tapping ➕ New Bank Account

  4. Tap Continue when the Plaid screen appears

  5. You will see a list of banks appear

  6. Search & select your bank

  7. Log in to your bank via Plaid

  8. Tap the Pay button at the bottom to submit payment!

Remember to Set Up Auto-Pay!

  1. Go to your RentRedi app

  2. Tap the Rent icon

  3. Tap Set Up Auto-Pay (enter in payment information if you haven't already done so)

  4. Enter the amount that will be automatically charged each month (Note: you can also set up weekly auto-pay as well)

  5. Select the date the payment will be automatically made (on or before rent due date)

  6. Click Save Changes
