Did you receive a RentRedi email stating that a new phone number was added to your RentRedi account for Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
If you did not make this change, you will want to act immediately to secure your account. Please follow the steps below to revoke the change and lock down your profile.
Step 1: Locate the Security Alert Email
Go to your email inbox and find the notification "(You’ve added 2 step verification) from RentRedi."
The email will identify the last 4 digits of the new phone number that was added.
Note: If you recognize the number as your own, no further action is needed. If you do not recognize it, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Click the Revocation Link
Inside the email, you will see the link.
Click the link immediately.
Note: You do not need to be signed into your RentRedi account to use this link.
Step 3: Confirm Removal
A pop-up window will appear in your browser asking you to confirm that you want to remove this phone number.
Click the Yes, Remove It button.
Please Wait: Once you click confirm, the system creates a security block. Please note that this may take a few minutes to load. Do not close the window until you see a success message.
Step 4: System Lockout
Once the phone number is removed, the system will automatically log you out of all active sessions.
This means you will be signed out on your computer and the mobile app.
This is a safety measure to ensure no one else is logged into your account.
Crucial Next Steps: Secure Your Account
Now that the unauthorized phone number has been removed, you must secure your login credentials to prevent future access.
Reset your RentRedi Password Log back into RentRedi. You will want to reset your password. If not, go to your settings and change it immediately to a strong, unique password.
Re-enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Go to your security settings and set up 2FA again using your correct mobile phone number.
Check Your Email Security Often, unauthorized changes occur because a user's email account password was compromised elsewhere. We strongly recommend you:
Change the password for your email account (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.).
Enable Two-Factor Authentication on your email account if you haven't already.
Still having trouble? If you are unable to use the link or cannot access your account, please chat with our support team immediately.
