RentRedi lets you connect different payment accounts to your properties and units, so you can choose where rent, other payments, and security deposits are deposited. 🏦

You can use one payment account for multiple properties or set up separate accounts for different properties or units. You can also set a default payment account to make setup easier when adding new properties.

Follow the steps below to connect, update, and manage your payment accounts! 👇

Access Property Connections

  1. From your RentRedi dashboard, click ❯❯ (Expand sidebar) at the top left.

  2. Go to Payments ➜ Payment Accounts.

  3. Click Property Connections.

You can view the payment account connected to each property or unit and update the connections anytime.

Connect a Payment Account to a Property

  1. On the Property Connections page, find the property you want to update.

  2. Click the dropdown for the property's Primary or Security Deposit account.

  3. Select the payment account you want to use.

Connect a Payment Account to a Unit

You can also use a different payment account for a specific unit.

  1. Click the arrow next to the property address to expand the units.

  2. Find the unit you want to update.

  3. Click the dropdown for the unit's Primary or Security Deposit account.

  4. Select the payment account you want to use.

Note: Units set to Inherit from Property will automatically use the payment account connected to the property.

What does Primary mean?

The Primary account receives regular payments for a property or unit, including rent, late fees, utilities, repairs, and other charges that aren't security deposits.

You can choose:

  • Inherit from Property — Uses the property's payment account.

  • Use Global Default Primary — Uses your Global Default Primary account.

  • A specific payment account — Uses the account you select.

Important: Skip Connection is not available for a unit's Primary account. A Primary account is needed so the unit can collect rent and other regular payments. If a unit is still set to Skip for Primary, you'll see a red warning with options to choose another account.

What does Security Deposit mean?

The Security Deposit account receives payments for charges created as Tenant Security Deposits Held.

You can choose:

  • Inherit from Property — Uses the property's payment account.

  • Use Global Default — Uses your Global Default Security Deposit account.

  • A specific payment account — Uses the account you select.

  • Skip Connection — No Security Deposit payment account is connected.

Set a Global Default

A Global Default lets you choose the payment account that will automatically be used when you add new properties.

  1. From Property Connections, click the Pencil button in the upper-right corner.

  2. Select the default Primary and Security Deposit payment accounts.

Need to Add a Payment Account?

If you don't see the account you need, click the dropdown and select + Add New to create a payment account.

Once it's created, you can connect it to a property or unit from Property Connections.

Not Collecting Payments for a Property?

You can choose Skip Connection at the property level. This means the property won't be set up for payment collection.

Note: You can also use Skip Connection for a unit's Security Deposit account, but not for its Primary account.
