Do you have more than one tenant sharing a unit? Not a problem! The steps below will allow you to connect multiple tenants to charges, whether it be a full lease or month-to-month charges!

Roommates with Joint Charges

Step 1: Add the Tenants to the Unit!

  1. From the RentRedi dashboard, click the Properties tab

  2. Select the unit you want to assign to the tenants

  3. On the left side of the Unit Card, you'll see Tenants

  4. Select Add New, and follow the prompts for the tenant information

  5. Do the same for each tenant for this unit

Done!

Step 2: Create the Charges!

  1. Once you finish adding the tenants, you'll be in the Unit Card for the property

  2. On the right-hand side, click on Charges

  3. You'll see + Add Charge, click there, and select Lease/ Rent

  4. The BOOK TO designation and description will be Rental Income and Rent

  5. Select Continue

  6. Verify that all tenants are listed here. Only tenants listed will be able to pay

  7. Once you hit Continue, enter the full Rent Amount and Lease Start and End Dates to create a lease of charges

  8. To create Month to Month/ Recurring charges, click the box below "Lease End Date."

  9. Customize the charge frequency (i.e., monthly, bi-monthly, custom, etc)

  10. You can customize that date for each charge (i.e., the 28th of the month)

  11. Note: If the rent is month-to-month, leave the Lease End Date space empty.

  12. Click Continue

  13. Preview charges (edit due dates, delete or duplicate charges as needed)

  14. Click Save

Done! Now your tenants will be able to view their shared charges! Click below for an article to help your tenants make partial payments.

Below are instructions for roommates with separate charges!
