Want to keep your tenants current with their payments? You can make sure older charges or past balances are paid before newer ones. This helps prevent skipped late fees and keeps your accounting accurate.

No worries — setting it up in RentRedi is quick and easy!

Follow these simple steps:

  1. From your RentRedi dashboard, click the Sidebar Toggle.

  2. Click Payments, then select Payment Rules.

  3. Click + Add Rule.

  4. Select the property and unit (or choose All Properties / All Units).

  5. Under Payment Order Rules, choose “Require tenants to pay oldest charges first.”

  6. Click Update Rules.

That’s it! Your payment rules are now set to prioritize the oldest charges first, helping you stay on top of tenant payments. ✅

Note: If a tenant has a late fee separate from an overdue charge, they can pay the overdue charge first. However, they won’t be able to pay next month’s rent until the late fee is fully paid.
