Will New Tenants See Charges from Old Tenants?

Question: I just added new tenants and I'm about to create rent charges, but I still have old tenants assigned to the same unit. Will they be able to see each other's rent charges?

Answer: No. When you create rent charges for your new tenants, you can assign the charges only to them. As long as your old tenants are not selected, they won't be able to view or pay those charges. Likewise, your new tenants won't have access to charges assigned to your old tenants. 😄

Each tenant will only see the rent charges assigned to them.

How to Create Charges Visible to Specific Tenants

When creating a charge, you'll reach the step to Select Unit & Tenants. During this step, simply uncheck the old tenant(s) and keep the new tenant(s) selected before creating the charge.

This ensures that:

  • New tenants only see charges created after they move in.

  • Old tenants continue to see only their own charges.

  • Tenants never have access to each other's charges.

Managing Charge Visibility

You can also update a charge after it's been created to manage which tenants can view it at any time. Simply click the charge to access the following options:

  1. Add All Tenants — Click this to make the charge visible to all current tenants assigned to the unit.

  2. Add New Tenant — Click to assign the charge to a new tenant that is not in the unit yet.

  3. Remove Tenant — If you want to remove a tenant from viewing a charge, simply click the three-dot ( ) menu under Actions, then select Remove Tenant.
