Will My Tenant Be Notified If I Add Another Tenant?

do existing tenants get notified when new tenants are added, tenant notifications, notify tenant, tenant set up, adding moving in tenant, setting up moving-in tenant

Question: I have new tenants moving into a unit, but I still have old tenants with outstanding payments. I don't want to remove the old tenants yet. Will they be notified when I add the new tenants to the unit?

Answer: No. Your old tenants will not receive a notification when you add new tenants to the same unit. 😄

How Tenant Visibility Works in RentRedi

RentRedi Tenants can only view their own personal information. Each tenant has an individual account, and information is not shared between tenants, even if they are assigned to the same unit.

Important Note: The only exception is when multiple tenants are assigned to the same rent charge, such as roommates splitting rent or a guarantor making payments for a tenant.

In those cases, they can view the shared charges (i.e rent, utility bill, etc.), but each tenant's personal account information remains private. ✅

This means when you add a new tenant to a unit:

  • Old tenants are not notified.

  • Tenants cannot view or access another tenant's personal information.

  • Each tenant's account remains private and separate.

You can confidently add new tenants to a unit while keeping your old tenants assigned so they can continue viewing and paying any outstanding charges. 🎉
