Want a lease to automatically switch to month-to-month after the initial term ends? No problemโ€”just follow the steps below! ๐Ÿ™Œ

By using the + Schedule New Lease Charges option, you can set up a secondary lease term that continues on a month-to-month basis. ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ“…

๐Ÿ“ Step 1: Set Up the Initial Lease Term

  1. On your RentRedi dashboard, click the Add Charge or Lease+ button on the Rent tab

  2. Choose Lease/Rent as the charge type

  3. Select the Property Address and Unit

  4. Set Rental Income as the โ€œBook Toโ€ value, and review the charge description

  5. Click Continue

  6. Confirm the tenants (Only selected tenants will see and pay these charges)

  7. Click Continue again

  8. Enter:

    • Rent Amount

    • Lease Start Date

    • Lease End Date

๐Ÿ” Step 2: Set Up the Month-to-Month Lease

  1. Click + Schedule New Lease Charges

    • This copies the initial rent setup and continues the schedule after the lease ends

  2. On the new lease schedule:

    • Check the box for Month-to-Month under Lease Ends

    • (Optional) Update the rent amount or apply a rent increase ๐Ÿ“ˆ

    • Set the monthly charge due date

  3. Click Continue

  4. Review the charges under Edit and Save,

  5. Then click Save once finished ๐ŸŽ‰

โฑ๏ธ What Happens Next?

After the initial lease term, the Month-to-Month feature will create a new rent charge every month, 21 days prior to the due date for the charge, and will auto-renew until the lease is deleted or an end date is set.
