If you’ve submitted a rental application and your landlord has sent an invite to complete tenant screening, this guide will help you finish the process so your landlord can receive a comprehensive background check report.

  1. Open the RentRedi app and tap Screen

  2. Verify that the property address and landlord name are correct

  3. Tap Yes, Let’s Do This

  4. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions

  5. Verify your identity by answering the questions

  6. Enter your payment information

  7. Link a bank account to complete income and asset verification (if requested)

  1. Click the Applications tab

  2. Click Start Screening

  3. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions

  4. Verify your identity by answering the questions

  5. Enter your payment information

  6. Link a bank account to complete income and asset verification (if requested)

Done! The screening is complete — your landlord will receive the reports! ✅

Important Notes

  • Tenant-Paid & Non-Refundable: Tenant screening is provided by a third-party service and cannot be refunded once submitted, even if your application is denied. Duplicate screenings for the same property may be excluded.

  • Screening Fee: $39.99 for standard credit, criminal, and eviction checks via TransUnion. If the landlord requests Income & Asset Verification, an additional $10 applies, for a total of $49.99.

Not seeing the screening request, or didn’t receive the email invite?

  • The landlord manages rental applications and decides which prospective tenants need screening. Contact them directly to confirm whether screening is required.

  • To avoid accidentally paying for the screening, confirm with your landlord before submitting payment. Use the contact information from your email or the rental listing.
