Team Member Types

Understand the difference between a main account owner, teammate, property manager, maintenance person, listing agent, and owner (view only) so you know who can access what in RentRedi.

If you're inviting people to help manage your properties, RentRedi gives you a few different role options to choose from. Here's what each one means and what they can access.

Main Account Owner

This is the person who owns the RentRedi subscription and controls billing. Also called the primary account holder, this is usually the landlord or property manager running the account.

The main account owner is the only one who can:

  • Add or change payment accounts (bank accounts used for rent collection)

  • Add or change the payment method (card used for subscription billing)

  • Invite, edit, or remove teammates

No teammate-type account, regardless of role, can do any of the above. This applies across the board to Teammate/Property Manager, Maintenance Person, Listing Agent, and Owner (View Only) accounts alike.

Teammate / Property Manager

These are the highest access options available for accounts invited by the main account owner. The two titles exist to match different business models, a solo landlord might call this person a teammate, while a property management company might call the same role a property manager, but the access is the same either way.

Teammates and property managers can access everything else in the account, aside from the main account owner limitations above and custom applications.

Maintenance Person

This role is built for contractors, vendors, and other maintenance personnel. Their access centers on updating and completing maintenance requests.

  • View access lets them see the request.

  • Edit access lets them update the status, make changes, and input labor and material costs.

Listing Agent

This role is for an external listing agent or broker who helps with listings and finding tenants. Their access centers on properties, listings, applications, and pre-qualifications.

Owner (View Only)

This role is for property owners who need visibility into their property without editing anything. It's commonly used by property managers who want to give their clients (the actual property owners) a way to check in.

Owners with this role can view their properties, associated charges, and tenants, but they can't make changes to any system data.

Because this role is view-only, its Task access options are limited to Only View or Can't View, rather than the full View & Edit range other roles have. Module access is limited to All Modules, Maintenance, Notifications, Properties, Rent, and Renters, and you'll also choose which properties the owner can see.

Notifications for Team Members

Team members receive most of the same notifications as the main account owner, including updates related to properties, tenants, leases, maintenance, and rent collection, depending on the permissions allowed to their account.

However, team members will not receive notifications related to:

  • Changes made to payment account details

  • Verification codes or security confirmations required when updating payment account information

These are only sent to the main account owner for security purposes.

Team members can manage their notification settings the same way the main account owner does, from their Settings page.
