Need to create a charge for a past date or an old lease? No worries—here’s how to do it!

Important:

The first charge due date in the system can’t be in the past. By default, the system will set the first charge to the next upcoming due date. To create charges dated in the past or old leases, you can use the Duplicate Charge feature.

Steps to Create Past Charges:

  1. From your RentRedi Dashboard, click Properties.

  2. Select the unit where you want to create past charges.

  3. Under Current Lease, click + Add New.

  4. In the Select Unit step, click Continue (the unit is auto-filled).

  5. Connect tenants to their charges. Only selected tenants will see the charge. To remove a tenant, click the three dots next to their name and select Exclude from New Charge.

  6. Click Continue.

  7. Enter the rent amount, lease start and end dates, and set the recurrence (monthly, bi-monthly, custom, etc.).

  8. Click Continue.

  9. In the Edit and Save step, click Duplicate Charge to copy a charge.

  10. Click the Calendar button next to the Duplicate Charge button and select the date you want (or the past date).

  11. Repeat, duplicating and editing the date as needed for multiple past charges.

  12. Once all past and future charges are created, review everything and click Save.

Done! ✅

If your tenant paid the charges that occurred in the past, you can reflect that in RentRedi by marking a payment as received!
