Why RentRedi Asks for a New Email Security Code (Deposit Account Changes & 2FA)

email security code, 6-digit code, verification code required again, update deposit account, enroll 2FA, code expired, why do I need another code

Written by Danny Hehir

Some actions in RentRedi are considered sensitive account changes. Before you can complete them, we send a 6-digit security code to the email address on file and ask you to enter it.

🔐 When you'll be asked for a code

  • Updating or changing the connected bank account associated with your payment account

  • Enrolling in Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

❓ I already verified my email today — why am I being asked again?

Each of these actions now requires its own fresh code. Verifying your email earlier in the day, or completing a different sensitive action earlier, does not carry over as an additional security measure.

This is intentional. It makes sure the person making the change has access to the email inbox associated with the account at that moment, which protects your account (and your rent deposits) if your password is ever compromised.

📬 Finding your code

  • Subject: RentRedi New Verification Code

  • Always use the most recent code you received. Older codes will not work.

  • If you don't see it, check your spam/junk folder, then use the Resend option in RentRedi to trigger a new one.

⚠️ If you did not request a code

If you receive a security code email you didn't request, someone may be trying to change your account. Contact RentRedi Support right away and see Understanding Unauthorized Transactions.
