Why a Listing Shows "Not Accepting Applications"

What to check when an applicant reports that your unit or application link is not accepting applications.

Written by Danny Hehir

If an applicant can't apply or sees "Not Accepting Applications," check the following:

1. Check that the unit is listed

An unlisted unit won't accept applications through its listing. If needed, relist the unit.

2. Check that the unit is vacant

A unit with a tenant attached isn't considered vacant, even if the tenant is moving out. See Rented Units Showing as Vacant or Vacant Unit Showing as Rented.

3. Check the link

Make sure you're sharing the correct prequalification or application link. Deleted invites will no longer work. See Ways to Use Your Prequalification/Application Link and How to Share a Prequalification or Rental Application Link.

4. Invite the applicant directly

You don't need an active listing to collect an application. Invite the applicant directly.

Still stuck? Send Support the link you shared and the property/unit name so we can check what the applicant is seeing.
