Proof of ownership of a second factor is required to complete sign-in, 2FA, Two Factor, Authentication, Two-Factor, Update Email

If you received the following error message when updating your email,
โ€‹

Proof of ownership of a second factor is required to complete sign-in.


you may have Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) enabled. When you update your email, 2FA has to be disabled. As a result, check and disable 2FA, and then update your email. Once done, then you can turn it back on if you would like!

Here are the steps!

  1. Go to app.rentredi.com/settings to see that Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is enabled

  2. (If 2FA is on) ask chat support to send you a 6-digit code to your phone

  3. Please send that 6-digit code back in the chat

  4. After we receive the code, we escalate the ticket internally to have 2FA disabled

  5. After itโ€™s disabled, you will visit https://app.rentredi.com/updateEmail to update your email! ๐ŸŽ‰

If 2FA is not enabled, please reach out to us for support!
