Each rental application in RentRedi has a status that shows where the applicant is in the application process.
Here’s what each status means and what you can do next! 😊
Pending Invites
If you've invited a prospective tenant to apply but they haven't submitted their application yet, they'll appear under Pending Invites.
You can view the invitations you've sent from Sent Application Invites.
If you sent an invite to the wrong person, you can also delete a pending invite.
What this means: The applicant has been invited but hasn't submitted their application yet.
Pending Review
Once a prospective tenant successfully submits their application, it will appear under Pending Review. This means the application has been submitted and is ready for you to review and make a decision. See How to View Pending Applications.
What this means: The application has been submitted and is waiting for your decision.
If an applicant was previously under Pending Invites, they will automatically move to Pending Review after successfully submitting their application.
Accepted
The applicant has been approved!
Depending on your leasing process, you may want to schedule a viewing if you haven't already, or add the accepted applicant as a tenant. Once added, you can invite them to sign their lease or create their charges (e.g., rent, security deposit, etc.) and start collecting their payments.
If the applicant changes their mind and decides not to rent, see Accepted Applicant Decides Not to Rent.
What this means: You've approved the applicant, and you can now move forward with the next steps in your leasing process.
Changes Requested
You've asked the applicant to make changes to their application (e.g., they missed answering a question, or you simply need them to correct their answer). The application is now back with the applicant so they can make the requested updates. See How to Update an Application / Request Update.
If you requested changes by mistake, you can cancel the change request.
What this means: You've requested that the applicant update their application.
Rejected
The applicant has been declined. Accepted and Rejected are not permanent statuses, so if you change your decision, you can revert the application back to Pending.
If you archive an application using the option to reject it without notifying the applicant, it will also appear under Rejected. For more information, see How to Archive a Prequalification or Application.
What this means: You've declined the applicant, or the application was archived as rejected without notifying the applicant.
Application Status vs. Tenant Screening Status
Your application status and tenant screening status are separate.
For example, an application can show as Accepted even if the applicant's tenant screening report is still processing.
